I’ve had my eyes on this beauty of a parfum for a while now, ever since it was released earlier this summer. I’ve literally exhausted two 100ml bottles of Emporio Armani – Sí and I was on the hunt for a brand new parfum. Don’t get me wrong, Nectar Love was up against two big competitors, Mon Guerlain by Guerlain and La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme – two fragrances which I adore but, in the end, Nectar Love was the winner for me.
I purchased the 100ml size as it’s more cost efficient and also lasts longer which is about 6 months or so. From back in my University days working part time for Superdrug on the fragrance counter, I learnt that the more concentrated the composition of the perfume (the scent) the more expensive and longer lasting it will be. Parfum or perfume is the most expensive as the composition of essential fragrance is in its most purest form (concentrated) and will last the longest once sprayed onto the skin. Eau de parfum is slightly less concentrated compared to parfum and is typically less expensive too. Eau de toilette contains a lesser concentration of essential oil than day de parfum and is therefore the cheapest. You kind of get the gist right?
Packaging – The bottle is easy to grip and I really like the cute bees embedded onto the bottle and lid BUT it’s the most awkward bottle to capture when taking a photo. I tried all different angles so it didn’t look wonky but hey, the bottle is purposely slanted so there’s not much I can do about that. The mirrored lid though – fail! So please excuse my reflections in the images but this is something I couldn’t exactly hide away from.
Scent – The floral fruity scent and especially the honeycomb is what attracted me to this edible fragrance. The initial spritz is just as lovely as when it settles and reaches its base note. All rounder, a really pretty scent and I can’t wait to to drown myself in it! Below is a description of the top, mid and base notes which I’ve taken from the Boots website;
- TOP: Yellow Freesia, Mandarin, Grapefruit, Nectarine, Solar Salicylates
- MID: Jasmine, Muguet, Orange Flower, Mirabelle
- BASE: Honeycomb Neroli Extract, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Musk
Prices (eau de parfum) – £74 for 100ml, £55 for 50ml, £40 for 30ml
